For decades Christianity has suffered from ironically an evolution of taking the Bible for granted. We do not study this amazing prose at the levels it was meant to be studied. Many Christians accept getting angry, and frustrated as a way of life. They do their best guessing what is right and wrong, and sometimes have reasons like common sense to guide them. They experience moments of peace but it never seems to last very long so they force themselves to exercise, meditate, go on vacations and do many other things to relax.

None of these are bad in-and-of-themselves. What is short changing Christians that don’t study the Bible is the fact that we were meant to experience peace and contentment through a relationship with our Creator. God has used many means to reach into our heart or center of consciousness. The main venue He has chosen that is a staple for communication is the Bible. That is why it is referred to as the “Bread of life” and “God’s word.” It is humankinds “Word Up.”

Then there is another problem. There are those that have studied the Bible in utter devotion but have “shanked” the meaning by trying too hard. It is like swinging a golf club or baseball bat. If you are not relaxed and focused on the correct information (context), you will undoubtedly “shank a shot,” or hit a foul ball when you apply the force behind the shot. That is why fanatic thinking undoubtedly hurts people whether by accident or on purpose. So we need to approach reading the Bible in a calm deliberate way.

Issues like discussing Evolution vs. Creation in a scientific platform are really kind of silly to get so upset about because there is no total “scientific” fact behind either side so we are forced to believe theory no matter what side of the debate you find yourself. Evolutionists for years have railed at the Christians for believing something without scientific fact. Well if truth-be-know there are many scientific facts that have to be ignored in order to believe evolution.

One scientific fact that has to be ignored is that none of the timelines presented in the evolution model can be verified beyond a certain age. All the timelines past like 7,000 to 10,000 years are a best guess based on other best guesses. They are therefore not fact but a merely a possibility. Doesn’t that show the evolutionists are doing exactly what they rail at the Christians for doing? Maybe not in some minds, but the fact remains scientists have made grave errors in the past by embracing “scientific theory as scientific truth.” When this is done so passionately that they lose sight of the real verifiable truth which leads mankind off track for a season until they are exposed as science fanatics. That’s what happened during Columbus’s age when the great scientists where so passionate that the earth was flat. Can you see that fanatics come in all sizes, shapes and rational reasoning and thinking?

We all need to stop and take a deep breath and honestly evaluate our personal thinking process. If we become aware of the defaults we sub consciously default too without thinking much about anything. Then we can identify places our defaults have gotten us in trouble. Defaults and taking things for granted have a tendency to get us in trouble when we’re not looking, but everyone else seems to be.

If science is going to advance we need to leave out our prejudice defaults and not take information for granted. We need to embrace what we can prove first and be honest about what we think might be true so doors will stay open for others to explore other possibilities until the truth is revealed about any possibilities. Another irony is even what we can prove is sometimes not 100 percent correct and we need to not take it for granted but constantly check to see if we have all the variables accounted properly. This further drives the point home why it is so important to know what truth is before we try to build the next level of understanding. Christian’s don’t need to shy away from science. They need to embrace it because God is revealed in tangible ways we don’t seem to get yet. As time goes on and the level of our true understanding is increased we will be amazed.

Let’s all open our minds calmly and grow together but keep in mind we must guard against having our minds so open our brains fall out.

If you don’t understand something then chances are you need to raise your level of consciousness on that subject rather than throwing rocks because it doesn’t make sense to you.
